Morphological characterization of maize genotypes in Sylhet

Maize plays an important role both as food and feed throughout the world. For morphological characterization evaluation of yield attributes maize genotypes experiment was carried out at experimental field Department Crop Botany Tea Production Technology, Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU). The materials were seven exotic viz.ZM 0001, ZM 0002, 0003, 0004, 0005, 0006ZM 0007 along with BARI 6 control. laid in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) three replications. Significant variations observed among eight for most plant characters studied. tallest found 0005(246.5 cm). highest number leaves produced 0001 (14.01). longest widest leaf recorded 0004 (94.67 cm) (10.32 cm), respectively. internode 0005 (21.61 genotype earliest respect tasseling silking.
